I have had a lifetime involvement with and passion for horses which began when riding my Grandmother’s horses as a small child. I did not have my own pony until I was a teenager by which time I had convinced my parents it was not a passing fad!
On leaving school my father was keen that I had a “proper job” which saw me working in a Bank for 3 years. I continued to be obsessed with horses & began Eventing & gained my BHSAI as it was in those days (the first rung on the BHS teaching ladder). Finally after a few years of hating the office life I bit the bullet and went to work with horses at a riding school/training yard and carried on studying for my teaching qualifications. I stayed there for about 2 years before becoming self employed, setting up my own teaching/coaching business which I have now been doing for over 30 years! I am a BHS Stage 4 Senior Coach in complete horsemanship, registered as a BHS Accredited Professional Coach.
In 2017 I trained and qualified as a British Eventing Accredited Coach also.
Eventing has always been my first love and I have produced all my own horses from inexperienced youngsters through the levels and have competed up to Advanced level including Bramham and Blenheim International 3 Day Events.
I am passionate about Coaching horses and riders from grassroots level up and find it extremely rewarding seeing combinations growing in confidence and improving their skills. I believe that confidence and a positive attitude are vitally important to achieve success at any level. I regularly attend CPD training days and clinics and believe that we never stop learning!
